Manitoba, Canadian province, claimed plans to cooperate with British Columbia lottery in 2013.

Manitoba Lotteries is planning to launch a website in association with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. The reasons for that are evident – Manitoba Lotteries is going to launch its website in order to prevent illegal online gambling, which costs the company $37 million annually. Manitoba Lotteries wants to ensure its players that their money won’t get into the hands of swindlers.

Under the agreement signed between Manitoba Lotteries and British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), GTECH G2 and BCLC will work out the website design and manage all development and testing services. Manitoba Lotteries, in its turn, will manage the other aspects of the website.

Manitoba Lotteries estimated that new gambling website will bring the net income of $1.5 million during the first year. By 2018, the company is planning to earn up to $17 million. Five percent of income will go on the support of anti-addiction programs and responsible gambling.
